Satisfactory has a debug console, but the community wiki says it is not for cheating. The famous commands like GiveItem, Fly, God and Teleport appear in autocomplete but have not worked since Early Access.
What you actually use depends on your goal. This page separates the vanilla console, Creative Mode, SML cheat commands and the dedicated server console.
How to open the console in Satisfactory
- Press the backtick (`), tilde (~) or section (§) key in game. The key must be pressed alone, without Shift, Ctrl or Alt.
- Press the key again to open the larger window, which some commands need.
- Type a command and press Enter. Typing a space shows the command list.
- To change the key, close the game and add ConsoleKeys=F6 under [/Script/Engine.InputSettings] in Input.ini in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\Windows, then mark the file read-only.
The wiki and a server-host guide say the console is desktop-only, and it affects only your local game. If your layout lacks the key, the wiki suggests switching to the English (UK) layout.
How Satisfactory commands work
- Values in angle brackets are required and square brackets are optional.
- Quote names that contain spaces.
- Some names are case-sensitive, for example the recipe name in materialFlowAnalysis.

Satisfactory console commands: give item
In vanilla, GiveItem does nothing. The wiki lists it as non-functional along with Fly, Ghost, Teleport, God and Cheats.
Your options are Creative Mode, which gives access to items from the in-game menu, or the SML mod and GiveItemStacks with an item's blueprint path (not its display name).
- Install SML with the Satisfactory Mod Manager.
- Enable its Enable Cheats savegame setting, or run SML.ForceAllowCheats 1.
- Run EnableCheats after loading the save.
- Run GiveItemStacks with the blueprint path and number of stacks.
Satisfactory dedicated server console commands
The wiki says that as of v5.0.4 the Console tab in the in-game Server Manager is the only way to run commands on a dedicated server. You must be connected as admin.
Server admins enable Creative Mode in the Server Manager. Per a hosting guide, once it is on every player can open the settings, with You options applying to the toggler and Everyone options to the server.
Creative Mode instead of commands
Pick Creative Mode on a new game, or tick Enable Creative Mode under Load Game for an existing save. Copy the save first because it is permanent.
Why Satisfactory console commands are not working
- The console does not open: use ` ~ or § alone, or set ConsoleKeys in Input.ini.
- GiveItem does nothing: it is non-functional in vanilla. Use Creative Mode or SML.
- Cheats reset after loading: re-run EnableCheats after every save load.
- Server command not found: use the Server Manager Console tab, signed in as admin.
